The information from the Jr. NBA/WNBA program below relates to nominating a player for selection to their national team.  The CHYBL would like to participate in this program this year. Nominations must be based on last years performance and be of age 11 or 12 by January 1, 2009; this means the player nominated would have been a part of last years Grade 5/6 Division.  Pertaining to Boys, I suggest we would consider a player from the Grade 6 age group last year - this years Grade 7 boys.  As we don't have a Girls Grade 7/8 Division, this information would pertain to the Grade 6 girls from last year.

 

 

Dear Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA League Directors:
 
The nomination process for the 2008-09 Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA National Team is now underway. As of this morning, we have not received any nomination forms from your league. Please take a moment to recognize your league's best and brightest male and female player for this prestigious award.  
 
To honor a male and female player (nominees must be either 11 or 12 years of age on January 1, 2009), please print and fill out the attached nomination form and fax to the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA at 770-641-7596 no later than December 5, 2008.  If your league has not yet begun play, please base your selection on last season’s performance. Nominations received after December 5th cannot be considered for selection.
 
All nominees will receive a full-color personalized award certificate. A total of one hundred sixty-five (165) nominees will be named All-Region winners and will receive a Jr. NBA/Jr.WNBA medal.
 
Ten (10) outstanding nominees will be named to the 2009 National Team and receive the Grand Prize of a trip for two (2) to the 2009 NBA All-Star Weekend in Phoenix!
